Background

EIM is a local logistics and shipment company that provides door-to-door delivery within Singapore. The company was incorporated in 2022 and has seen a steady growth ever since. In recent months, business growth has accelerated unexpectedly and with this spike, the current headcount of 30 staff is insufficient. The CEO and HR Manager have collectively decided to expand the HR team. This additional HR headcount will help grow and maintain EIM’s workforce.

Assume you are the HR Manager in EIM. You have prepared the following responsibilities and requirements for the vacancy of Recruitment and Payroll Executive. You will be the only interviewer for this position.

Recruitment and Payroll Executive Responsibilities:

  • Post job vacancies to source suitable candidates.
  • Review and short-list resumes.
  • Conduct initial phone/virtual interviews, when needed.
  • Schedule and participate in interviews.
  • Prepare interview reports with input from interviewers.
  • Present report to Hiring and HR Manager for final recruitment decision.
  • Manage HR e-payroll software.
  • Prepare monthly payroll in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and execute all statutory submissions while complying with statutory requirements.
  • Update statutory changes accordingly (e.g. increases in CPF contribution).
  • Manage all payroll related matters and queries from staff.
  • Resolve payroll errors (if any).
  • Monitor new hires, promotions, transfers and terminations.
  • Other ad-hoc HR duties, as reasonably requested.

Requirements:

  • University degree in HR from a reputable University.
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant working experience.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Good written and spoken English and Mandarin language skills.
  • Experienced in HR Management System Software.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office applications

Design an interview plan

Design and create a complete set of suitable interview questions relevant to the job position of Recruitment and Payroll Executive. Your interview questions need to meet the objective of unearthing from your interviewee, the KSAOs required for the role and job fit.
