HCI Prototype & Website Redesign Assignment Guide
Background:
By now, you should be familiarized with core Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Usability Engineering theory through the analysis and evaluation from the website or system you have been working on in the previous assignment.
In this assignment, you are required to re-design and develop a prototype as an enhanced version of website or system you have evaluated from the previous assignment CW1. You are expected to apply the core Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Usability Engineering theory to the when proposing and designing the new website with high quality interfaces for computer and web systems.
You are highly advice to start the work by generating a range of interface prototypes, from low fidelity storyboards to partial high-fidelity applications for a range of device and system types which include the content development. Then, utilise a variety of tools and techniques for the
generation of creative and highly effective web-based systems. And lastly, conduct thorough evaluations of system interfaces deploying a variety of usability evaluation methods including heuristic analysis, usability tests and cognitive walkthroughs.
Part 1: (Content Development & UI Prototyping Process):
You are to identify users’ needs by ensuring that users are actively involved in the mocking-up of the UI for a system that provide a mechanism to support internet-based services – build a website and/or online system to promote the business and for information sharing purpose.
Part 2 (Website & System Development):
Develop a functional website and online system which allowing visitors to get updates and information from the student website, its activities, news, calendar, and interacting with the business owner.
For the site to support part of MLO4 below, include back-end data-entry features to allow the business owner to securely update database and website content.
